2nd Prototype of the Collaborative Virtual Workspace from Design4Energy Project

This is the 2nd prototype of Colloborative Virtual Workspace developed in Design4Energy Project.

Aim : to develop an interactive 3D virtual workspace that can allow various actors to collectively simulate and assess the impact of various energy solutions within a visual space, with the view to achieving the optimum energy efficiency at building and/or neighborhood level.


      Prototype of the 3D online Gaming from Design4Energy Project

This is the 2nd prototype of Colloborative Virtual Workspace developed in Design4Energy Project.

Aim : provides an interactive workspace to enable users explore various ‘what-if scenarios’ individually as well as collectively in a ‘team space’ and investigate the impact of their decisions and choices on cost and energy performance. This is a D4E training tool that will enable project’s architects and other SMEs to extend their knowledge about designing better energy efficient buildings taking energy and cost into consideration from an early design phase.


      First Prototype of Database from Design4Energy Project

This is a first prototype of the subsystem of Design4Energy platform, a web-based database with library of components and energy systems , used to store (1) static information in IFC compliant files and required by other modules (2) benchmarking operational information component, used to store operational information from others similar real cases (3) simulation information component, used to store simulation outputs from simulation module (4) maintenance and operational data etc.

      First Prototype of Catalogue Browser from Design4Energy Project

This is a first prototype of the subsystem of Design4Energy platform, a plugin designed for revit to connect to our web based database, using this browser, user can directly download the component libraries and import to Revit environment.


      First Prototype of Component Importer for Revit from Design4Energy Project

First Prototype of plugin for importing IFC to BIM software (Revit). The software is able to import directly the building components or building designs in IFC format, without losing important data. In this way, the software enhances the interoperability of the commercial BIM software, such as Revit, with the open standard: IFC format.


      First Prototype of Energy Analysis in BIM from Design4Energy Project

First Prototype of plugin for Energy Analysis in BIM software (Revit). Linking to Energy plus, the software is able to launch default energy simulation with the simulation engine of Energy plus, and lighting simulation with DiaLux. This is expected to help the architect to improve the energy efficiency from the early phase of design without having expertise in energy and simulation.
