Design4Energy´s methodology improves the design process, integrates energy efficiency issues into the early design phase and provides tools to end users in order to make informed choices between different design options.
The Design4Energy Collaborative Virtual Workspace allows various actors to collectively simulate and assess the impact of various design scenarios in order to improve energy efficiency at the building or neighbourhood scale, as well as optimize retrofitting, Operation and Maintenance.
Design4Energy tackles the urgent need in reducing the energy consumption and carbon footprint of projects in the Architecture, engineering and construction sector. The platform facilitates the green building design process for engineers and architects, creating additional values around their clients´ projects on the long term and shifting from a contractual based model towards a value based model for building design.

This is the 2nd prototype of Colloborative Virtual Workspace developed in Design4Energy Project.

Acting as a personal virtual energy expert and project assistant, Design4Energy seamlessly performs this task.
Architects are empowered to simulate the impact of various design scenarios in the early design phase of projects.
Through the collaborative virtual workspace, digital access to broadened geographical markets is enabled and services are revamped through new value based business models.
Through less time and cost consuming green building design processes as well as the extended services portfolio to operations and maintenance and other phases of the construction lifecycle, clients enjoy better returns on investment and reduced energy costs.

As an platform integrated with different tools developed in Design4Energy project, the virtual workspace is an interactive platform allow various actors to collectively simulate and assess the impact of various energy solutions for a building designed, with the view to achieving the optimum energy efficiency at building and/or neighborhood level.

Like the previous video, this tortorial video focus on the retrofitting design. User will enable the exploration of different retrofitting solutions and assess their energy performance, having the simulation completed, the platform will generate different design options and provide decision support.
